Vote
Voting is used to delegate staking power to selected validators.
A validator’s eligibility and ranking for task assignments are determined by the total voting power received from users.
Only the top-ranked validators are selected to perform tasks, earning rewards that are distributed back to their supporting voters.
Voting Process
Follow these steps to delegate your votes:
- Visit the Validators Page – Go to overlap.fi/validators.
- Review Validators – Compare validators based on performance, commission rate, and ranking.
- Select Validator – Click the Vote button next to your chosen validator.
- Select Amount – Specify the amount of ETH you wish to delegate.
- Confirm Transaction – Approve and submit your vote on-chain.
- Earn Rewards – Begin earning a share of your validator’s task rewards based on their performance.
Validators distribute rewards to their voters on a commission basis.
Each validator’s commission rate determines how rewards are split between them and their voters.
Users can claim their portion of rewards at any time.
Voting Strategy
Voting in Overlap serves both as a governance mechanism and a yield-generating activity.
Selecting strong validators enhances both user returns and overall protocol reliability.
| Strategy | Description |
|---|---|
| Performance | Choose validators with a proven record of accuracy and consistency. |
| Commission | Balance a validator’s commission rate with their reliability. |
| Share | Consider your share of the validator’s total voting balance. |
| Rewards | Earn rewards from high-performing validators selected for tasks. |
Rewards
By voting in Overlap, you become eligible for rewards from each task your validator completes.
Rewards are distributed proportionally to your share of the validator’s total voting balance.
Additionally, all delegated ETH continues to earn staking yield through Lido, integrated directly into the protocol.
Flexibility
All delegated funds remain securely locked in Overlap’s Ethereum smart contract.
Users retain full control of their assets and can withdraw or reallocate them at any time to different validators.
Overlap supports multi-delegation, allowing votes to be distributed across several validators for diversification and risk management.
