How to Become a Validator

Becoming a validator requires staking tokens, attracting user votes, and maintaining consistent performance. This guide walks you through the registration process and strategies for building a successful validator profile.

Registration Process​

Follow these steps to register as a validator:

  1. Visit the Validators Page – Go to overlap.fi/validators.
  2. Open the Menu – Expand the burger icon and select the Register button.
  3. Stake Initial Deposit – Submit the transaction paying the minimum required ETH amount to become a validator.
  4. Cross-Chain Finalization – Wait for finality. The CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol) automatically synchronizes your status across Ethereum and Arbitrum.
  5. Go Live – Your validator profile becomes visible for vote delegation.
  6. Start Competing – Attract votes and climb the list.
  7. Resolve Tasks and Earn Rewards – Vote on the assigned tasks and share rewards with your voters.

Cross-Chain Processing

Upon registration, the protocol automatically initiates a cross-chain call that synchronizes your validator status across Ethereum and Arbitrum networks. This process typically lasts ~30 minutes and triggers automatically once registration is submitted. Once finalized, your status becomes active.
